ostransit-logo-smallThe City will be commencing a trial run of revised Core and Brooke Transit routes on Wednesday December 9, 2015 in an effort to streamline and improve customer service.

The City will be running a trial of reconfigured Core and Brooke bus routes which will shorten the Brooke route. This route routinely runs a few minutes past the required 30-minute route time, which accumulates over the course of a day affecting other bus routes.

It served the Owen Sound Fire Department until 1967, and it is now being taken to Grey Roots Museum to be restored by volunteers and once again be seen by the public.

greatlakessnowThe City of Owen Sound Public Works Department will be making changes to the winter maintenance procedures for the 2015/2016 winter season. The changes will provide cost savings to the City and greater efficiency for winter maintenance during the daytime hours. The changes are as follows:

Shifts Changes:

· Reduction from three shifts to two shifts; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 4 p.m. to Midnight

· 24 hour coverage will be provided when conditions warrant by extending shifts

· Night patrolman will be on duty through night hours, and will keep at least one lane open in each direction on the arterials
