In our industrial past, the Owen Sound harbour was lined with ships, factories, trains, piers, dumps and coal heaps. Since then, trees have grown up to take their place, and a people-centred shaded trail along the waterfront has been added.
Over the past few years, high and low water, seiches, beavers and development have devastated the shoreline. The latest change, the removal of very old willows, has taken place over the last few days, in parallel with "your tax dollars at work" on rehabilitation of the trail and shoreline protection. | |
