A blizzard warning has been issued for our geographic area for Friday, Dec. 23, into Saturday, Dec. 24.
Due to the potential weather moving into the area Guelph Owen Sound Transportation (GOST) will operate the morning run on Friday, departing from Owen Sound at 7:30 a.m. and departing from Guelph at 10:40 a.m., but the afternoon run (normally departing at 2:30 p.m.) is cancelled. At this time, Owen Sound Transit will continue to operate on the regular schedule.
The City and Voyago will continue to monitor the weather forecast and provide updates as this weather system evolves. The safety of our customers and drivers is our top priority.
As winter weather continues throughout the province, there are times when ice and snow can result in changes to Owen Sound Transit's and GOST's existing schedule on short notice.
Delays are likely during icy conditions, and poor visibility and full-service cancellations can occur when travel of any kind is determined to be unsafe.
When a change to scheduled service is required, customer alerts are posted on the City's website as soon as possible. For the most up-to-date information, people can check owensound.ca/transit or for GOST service, call Voyago directly at 519-465-0783
The City's transit system operates Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the last bus leaving the terminal at 6:00 p.m. On Saturdays, the hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the last bus leaving the terminal at 4:00 p.m.
