The City of Owen Sound would like to thank the public for assistance in determining the source of the high volume water usage in the southeast corner of the City in the area south of 10th Street East and east of 8th Avenue East during the period of September 10th to September 22nd. The City has received information establishing the source for most of the high flow events.
Council and staff greatly appreciate the assistance received from the public.
Update:
It has now been determined that most of the high flow events were the result of a private contractor flushing the hospitals hydrants. City staff have been in contact with, and made the contractor aware of protocol for flushing hydrants.
