Hello, My name is Bruce Muise
I am a Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board Trustee Candidate who is a results-oriented person.
For 12 years I was a member of the Board of Trustees and served as Chairman and Vice-Chair at two different Catholic School Boards in Northern Ontario.
My family and I moved to Owen Sound two decades ago after I accepted a position with the City of Owen Sound.
Husband to Janice, I am a proud father of three adult children and six grandchildren who have all attended Catholic schools.
I have enjoyed an extensive career in the Environmental field having worked in management positions with the Ministry of the Environment, the City of Owen Sound and the former Henderson Paddon Consulting Engineers.
As to my volunteer work, I value my involvement in community service, supporting the local CMHA, Special Olympics and Families for Autism through the Knights of Columbus Radio Bingo. I am a former Knights of Columbus Grand Knight and District Deputy. I am an active member of St. Mary’s Church community, as a member of the Cemetery Board and an assistant with Catholic Charities.
I am humbled to have this amazing opportunity to carry on the legacy of former Chairman Norm Bethune who served our seperate Board so well, for many years.
Why do I want to run as a Trustee? Well I firmly believe in working with the Catholic community in a collaborative manner to ensure our students are provided with the greatest opportunities to practice their faith and to realize their individual potential.
Addressing the capacity issues at all our schools in Owen Sound is important to me. St. Mary’s High School is building a new school in the near future and I would like to be a part of that process.
I am looking forward to meeting our Catholic ratepayers to learn about your thoughts and insights, your vision of Catholic Education in the future and to share mine with you.
