The Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade Project is almost 90% complete.
Approximately 20 truckloads of wastewater treatment media will be arriving on site this week and next, and installed into six separate treatment cells.
The media consists of millions of tiny ball-bearing sized Styrofoam balls (trade name 'Biostyr').
The surface area of this media is where the improved sewage treatment activity takes place.
Receiving the media is a significant milestone for the wastewater treatment plant upgrade project. In February, work will take place to finalize the commissioning of equipment, instruments, and control systems, with a view towards using the media to treat sewage in March.
