The City of Owen Sound is pleased to announce the nominees for the eighth annual Cultural Awards. Nominees include musicians, visual artists, teachers, and both new and long-established organizations and events, reflecting the health and diversity of Owen Sound's cultural scene.
The Cultural Awards Ceremony and Reception will be held in the Bay Room at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre on Sunday, February 19. It is a free event, open to the public, with reserved seating for nominees and their guests. The reception begins at 2:00 PM, and the awards ceremony begins at 2:30 PM. The reception includes hors d'ouevres and a cash bar.
The City is pleased to welcome our 2009 Cultural Award winner Larry Jensen to perform before and after the ceremony. Jensen and Rob Rolfe will also perform together during the awards presentation in their second and final appearance as Owen Sound Poets Laureate at the event.
The Owen Sound Cultural Awards are presented annually by the City of Owen Sound.

All award winners receive a custom-made marquetry box inspired by Tom Thomson's landscapes and handcrafted by artist Diane Edwards. The winner of the Emerging Artist award also receives a $500 cash prize.
