The City of Owen Sound's Music & Movies series returns to Harrison Park starting Friday, July 14. On four Fridays beginning in July, the City and series sponsor The Sun Times invite you to bring the whole family to enjoy outstanding young local musical talent and then watch a popular feature film under the stars.
This year's Sun Times Music & Movies series features a wide variety of family-friendly films, including a lesser-known Dreamworks Animation feature called "The Croods", the adaptation of the classic children's story "Where the Wild Things Are", and the box office smash "The LEGO Batman Movie". Also, for the first time the City is partnering with the Indigenous 150+ Film Series to present "Bee Nation", a heartfelt documentary following six students competing in the first-ever First Nations Provincial Spelling Bee.
Each Friday, starting at 8:30 PM, a singer-songwriter or musical group will entertain for 30 minutes before the feature film begins. The events take place on the field next to the basketball court in Harrison Park. Admission is free. Snacks and refreshments will be available from the Harrison Park Inn take-out stand until 9:00 PM. Music & Movies is a fair-weather event. Any rained-out evening will be rescheduled to Friday, August 11.
