The TD Harbour Nights Concert Series begins its 16th annual season with a command performance by The Beckett Family on Sunday, July 16. The outdoor concert series occurs Sundays and Wednesdays to August 13. All concerts are free and donations are appreciated.
TD Harbour Nights Concerts take place at the Inner Harbour behind the Visitor Information Centre, 1155 1st Avenue West, Owen Sound. Audiences are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs. In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be relocated to the nearby Legion Auditorium. All concerts begin at 7:00 PM.
This year's series has been condensed into a shorter timeframe due to the timing of 'Maawanji'iding: Festival Canadiana', the City's special celebration for Canada 150 and Owen Sound 160. A shorter timeframe, but with the addition of several Wednesday evening shows, TD Harbour Nights still features a full season of eight concerts this year. The first Wednesday concert is on July 19th with the Georgian Sound Big Band.
The Owen Sound 160 theme continues into TD Harbour Nights with a special all-local music program. In addition to The Beckett Family, the season includes performers who have made a name for themselves both in the local music scene and well beyond it, representing a wide variety of genres from jazz and folk to blues and rock. Then there's the eclectic Krueger Band on July 23rd, whose music spans all of these genres and more!
The Harbour Nights Concert Series is presented by the City of Owen Sound, TD, 92.3 The Dock, and other community-minded sponsors. It is one of many special events this summer on the City's Events Calendar.
