The City of Owen Sound is launching several new interactive mapping applications that will provide another way to share our story with residents, tourists and investors.
The applications use ArcGIS software hosted by Esri, made available to the City through a partnership with Grey County.
Three of the map-based applications are on the City's web site:
Cascade Application – Photos and text "cascade" through a scrolling story;
Story Map Application – Provides information on a tour or points of interest using photos and text, accessed by clicking points on a map;
Community Story Book Application – Allows the public to share photos and a short story, based on a location on a map.
The applications are accessible by tablet and smartphone.
They can be viewed at https://www.owensound.ca/en/living/gis-and-mapping.aspx. One application features our local waterfalls, another highlights points on the Salmon Tour, and a third, our "Community Story Book," allows the public to post photos and stories.
