In response to the extreme cold, the City of Owen Sound wishes to remind residents that there are warming stations available throughout the City.
Warming stations are located at the:
Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library – (9:30am-9:00pm)
Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre – (5:45am-11:00pm)
Bayshore Community Centre – (8:00am -11:00pm)
Barclay Room at Owen Sound Police Services
Extreme temperatures are expected to continue over the next several days.
Residents are encouraged to protect themselves from the cold and to dress warmly, stay dry, seek shelter and plan ahead.
Emergency shelter services are provided by the County of Grey through YMCA Housing Services. Those seeking emergency shelter are encouraged to YMCA Housing Services at 519-371-9230.
Safe’n Sound also provides emergency shelter services and those requiring support may call 519-470-2222 between the hours of 4:30pm and 10:00pm.
Residents requiring assistance are also reminded to call 211 for additional warming center of emergency shelter information. 211 is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
