The city has received reports that children may be playing in sewers.

Playing in sewers is absolutely prohibited and can be extremely dangerous. They are confined spaces. Environmental and other hazards exist that can easily injure or kill anyone trespassing in the pipes, manholes or catchbasins.

Parents must ensure their children are aware that this activity is prohibited and exercise proper supervision.

Anyone witnessing children entering storm or sanitary sewers should contact Police Services at 519-376-1234 or Public Works at 519-376-4274.
