shoes for 215As a child of the 50’s, I was educated in a system which all but ignored the contributions made to Canada by First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples. Our successes as a colonizer were lauded with little information as to how they was achieved.

How to now address those shortcomings in my education?

I have chosen, along with 39000 others recently, to avail myself of the free, on-line course from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Native Studies – Indigenous Canada. It is presented in 12 modules which can be completed at your own pace . The topics are presented in an informative , non-confrontational but accurate way. I for one am learning many new facts and having false ideas dispelled.

If this is something which you think might be useful to you access the University of Alberta website and in their search bar indicate Indigenous Canada.
