Dear Editor

It appears at present that Ontario voters are not prepared for the drama of a Doug Ford government. I could be wrong of course. This leaves a choice between Liberal and NDP. Liberals are carrying the baggage of being in power for 15 years and so voters are looking at the NDP, which makes sense. The basic issue here is whether voters should try something new or stick with the Liberal way forward. This reminds me of the last time voters decided to go with something new, and chose the NDP, then led by the well-respected Bob Rae. That didn't go too well, Rae Days being the term that immediately comes to mind. In looking back it was said that the NDP win came as a big surprise to them, (as it did everybody!) and that they were not prepared to deal with the difficult task they were presented with. The current NDP may well be better prepared but one would have to say that they must be surprised to be where they are in the polls presently. The issue is whether to stick with someone you know (even Postmedia feels Wynne is the best of a bad lot) or to take a flyer on the NDP. Either choice can be defended. Most importantly, make up your mind and then get out and vote!
