The 2018 Provincial Election in Ontario has created divisive attitudes, heated conversations and confused voters.

Everyone seems to have an opinion on at least two of the three provincial leaders.

Local candidates find themselves in new territory determining how their values align with their party and their leaders.

People who vote on party lines are feeling conflicted.

In Bruce Grey Owen Sound the candidates for the three major parties are reasonable, dedicated people anxious to serve the people of our riding.

Any one of them would earnestly work their hardest to represent BGOS.

Which one would be in the position to make the most impact in our riding regardless of what party forms government in Ontario?

I am placing my vote with Francesca Dobbyn.

Francesca is someone who follows issues, not party positions. She is consistently invested in doing what is best for her community. She is not always in agreement with Liberal decisions. She has been drawn into the fold as a result of her advocacy work within Bruce-Grey.

The Provincial Liberals were likely not the biggest Francesca fans when she started to draw their attention to the impact of high Hydro rates on rural Ontario. Her tenacity in pushing for a moratorium on winter disconnections and overall lower Hydro rates, didn't endear her to many people at Queen's Park initially.

Francesca celebrated when the Liberal government listened, Hydro rates were lowered and a moratorium was placed on winter disconnections.

BGOS is a riding that values outspoken maverick politicians who make their riding, not their party the priority. Francesca Dobbyn has earned this reputation within her riding. The Provincial Liberal party has also recognized this trailblazer and are anxious for her to be part of their team to truly represent rural Ontario.
