Dear Editor,
We would like to respond to concerns raised in the letter Reader questions local TC Energy project, published October 17, 2019.
Having owned and operated facilities across the province for over 65 years, TC Energy has always strived to be a leader when it comes to safely delivering energy to millions of people in an environmentally responsible manner. This proposed project would be no different. In fact, the project would provide Ontario residents with 1,000 megawatts of clean, renewable energy while supporting Ontario’s plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
While in the early stages of development, our commitment is to work with communities and stakeholders in a meaningful and respectful way. By transparently sharing information and seeking your input, we are better equipped to make the right decisions while recognizing the interests of our stakeholders and identify opportunities for communities to benefit from our activities.
In order to ensure the protection and integrity of Georgian Bay, we will be conducting multiple environmental studies to understand the potential impacts of the proposed project. We are committed to keeping you updated of our activities and answering your questions as those studies become available. More information on the project can be found at www.tcenergy.com/pumpstorage
Best,
Jennifer Link
