The delivery service at Kettles Back Home Cookin' looks a little different this week.
This month, the restaurant is asking the community to come together to support a local family as their 5-year-old daughter, Abby, battles severe epilepsy. Abby’s first seizure was in December 2019 while at school, and ever since the family has been on a difficult journey to find answers to help their daughter. Recently, Abby was diagnosed with Rasmussen’s Encephalitis, an extremely rare disorder that has detrimental effects on the left side of her brain. As a result, Abby underwent extensive surgery on Jan. 25th. Unfortunately, Abby’s difficult battle continues as she is now fighting meningitis, as well as other severe health complications. Abby and her family can use all the love and support that they can get, especially now.
For the month of February, Kettles will donate $1 to Abby’s family from each frozen dinner, meat-pie and fruit pie that we sell. This includes both pick-up and delivery. In addition, we will also have a donation jar on the counter at the restaurant for those who wish to make a monetary donation.
There are a number of ways to show your support for Abby and her family.
- Donation Jar on the counter at Kettles
- Purchase a Frozen Meal
- Make a donation upon delivery.
- Donate directly to their Go Fund Me Page, https://www.gofundme.com/f/abby-greatrexs-medical-journey
