What does the Owen Sound Hub do all day? Let us count it out for you.

Since the beginning of February, we have published 92 stories.

Every story is shared on at least 3 of our 4 social media platforms.

On the Owen Sound Hubbub Facebook page, we posted an additional 54 items – including sharing promotions from 10 downtown business and 12 other local businesses.

More than 10% of our posts were out of City Hall, 10 were from the police, and 43 were community-related – including news from the YMCA, Grey Sauble Conservation Authority, Grey County, Georgian College, our local school boards and cultural organizations. Sixteen posts were from our neighbouring communities.

Not a big surprise – 1 out of 6  posts in the past two weeks was from Public Health – our “COVID-19 by the numbers” daily reports, and notices about cases associated with local facilities, updates on vaccines, and changes in reporting and provincial orders added up  to 24.

We are proud that we also published 14 additional letters, opinion pieces and messages written by our neighbours for our neighbours.

We have a long list of things we would like to cover, stories we'd like to see on our pages, voices we would like to hear and images of our community we would like to see.

We have a great space in downtown Owen Sound that we are itching to get back to, but in the meantime, please knock on our virtual door if you have any ideas or want to pitch in - [email protected].

(Oh yes, and we read 338 emails and responded to who knows how many messages and Facebook comments, but that was just in our spare time!)
