To combat the winter blueberries the United Way of Bruce Grey, Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and OSHARE are celebrating Pi Day.
In March of 2020 Pi Day celebrations were the first event that fell victim to the Covid-19 Pandemic cancellations. But a year later, we’re back with a social distant, pandemically safe event.
There are 2 ways to celebrate Pi Day.
Order a pie baked by OSHARE or CMHA’s Fresh Roots Café or partake (pietake?) in the Pi day run (3.14 miles or 5.05 km) or both! Any donations beyond pie and run purchases will be split between the three participating organizations. Tax receipts are provided for donations.
Pie flavours:
Apple Crumble
Cherry Lattice
Lemon Meringue
Chocolate Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Bumble Berry Pie
There are limited quantities for each flavour of pie and a limit of only 2 pies per flavour per order (ie you can order 2 apple and 2 cherry but not 3 apple).
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate any food allergies such as gluten free, dairy free etc.
Pies can be picked at OSHaRE on Saturday, March 13th – 9 am to 11 am. OSHaRE is located at 946 Third Avenue East in downtown Owen Sound.
Pi Day run
$25 – UWBG self guided 3.14 mile, 5.05 km run
Each participant will receive a wooden 2021 dated Pi Day and ribboned medallion sponsored by HaveOne.com along with some other wonderful items. These will be mailed out to participants within 10 days of the event.
We will be sharing a couple of special Pi day routes around Owen Sound, and other communities.
All registered Pi Day runners will be entered into a grand prize random draw.
All participants are expected and advised to follow all Public Health Guidelines when participating in any and all activities related to this event.
Pies and Pi Day Run Tickets may be purchased online through Canada Helps at: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/united-way-of-bruce-grey/events/pi-day-2021/
