persephone garden marketPersephone Market Garden has over $1500 to support access to fresh, local produce. For six years, the farm has offered subsidized vegetable shares. The subsidized shares support members of the local community with financial barriers to accessing fresh, local produce. This year the program expanded. In the past, the fund consisted of a large contribution made by a farm customer. This year, PMG also contributed to the fund. For every share purchased and partially or fully paid by April 15th, PMG contributed $10 and $25 respectively. The subsidized share fund totals $1525.

The application for a subsidy is simple. Send a note that briefly explains why you would like fresh vegetables from the farm and what financial barriers you are facing to healthy eating. No financial details necessary!

Persephone Market Garden offers a CSA program. CSA stands for community supported agriculture. Members sign up for a share in spring and receive fresh vegetables from mid-June to the end of October. Members can choose a 10 or 20 week program. The program comes in 3 sizes – small, medium and large. Shares are fully customized for each member. Shares can also be placed on hold if the member is away. Each share is accompanied by a newsletter, with pictures of the contents, tips on storage and preparation, along with recipes. Pick up at the farm or delivery (including home delivery) to Owen Sound, Balmy Beach, Shallow Lake, Kemble, Big Bay, Island View Drive, and Wiarton.

Persephone Market Garden is a small, family farm that grows veggies, lots of trees, 3 small kids and big dreams about nurturing soils, ecosystems, and communities.
