Alexmemorial

Dear Community Members,

We’re sure that you have heard about the tragic discovery of the remains of 215 children on the grounds of the former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. For most of us, this is unimaginable!

To remember and honour the 215 children who lost their lives, and all Indigenous children who never returned home, survivors and their families, Alexandra School has created a memorial in front of our building. We invite our community members to visit this memorial.

When you do, you are welcome to leave flowers and/or write a heartfelt message of support on one of the orange flags. These messages of love and support will be shared with our friends and neighbours in the Saugeen First Nation and Cape Croker communities. We pray for healing and that we can learn from the mistakes of the past.

Sincerely,

The Alexandra Staff
