Owen Sound Little Theatre is pleased to announce that they will be again hosting their annual golf tournament on August 19, 2021 at Legacy Ridge Golf Club in Owen Sound. It’s been a difficult year but, with the support of event sponsors Scotiabank and Benedict Electric they have coming out swinging!
Due to COVID-19, the 2020 tournament was cancelled. Over the past fifteen months, OSLT members and staff have worked hard to reduce expenses, and people in the community have stepped up with personal donations to keep the heat on and maintain the building. Still, it has been a hard time with a darkened stage and very little revenue.
The Roxy is usually the very active center of Owen Sound’s live-entertainment community. The money raised from this year’s tournament will go towards the necessary costs of maintaining the historic building, in preparation of when we can re-open our doors to the public.
“We are excited to be planning to see friends and supporters at our annual charity golf tournament,” says Marcia Cunningham, Executive Director. “We are busily preparing for reopening of the theatre when it is safe to do so, and in anticipation of our 2021-2022 Season, and the funds raised at this tournament are crucial to ensuring the theatre is ready.”
Tickets are $150 per person. For members of Legacy Ridge Golf Club, tickets are $125. Tickets include lunch and dinner. Hole sponsorship is available for $100, and the organizers are seeking sponsors. The tournament will include both a raffle and silent auction.
