This fall the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is rolling out a full schedule of programs for the young and young at heart. Are you looking for something new for the kiddos, or maybe you need more time for you? Either way you will find this and more at your Museum.
c and while it looks a little different, it promises to be a night of absolute fun for your little explorers aged 8-12. On Friday, November 5 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM they will have an evening of clowning around, exploring their theatrical skills, learning about improvisation, and just having good old fashion fun with Leo Dragonieri and Julia Scaringi. Leo is an actor and arts-educator from Toronto who is also a Therapeutic Clown Practitioner. Julia is an actor and educator who works at DramaWay providing arts education for individuals with all abilities. A Night at the Museum is proudly presented by Southampton Rotary.
It’s time to take some time for yourself and take a personal journey with the Mid-Week Manifestations: Meditation & Mindfulness. During this three-part evening series professionals will lead you through meditation and contemplation, creating vision boards, and how they provide focus and direction. For the final evening the Chakra House is presenting “Being Aware of your Personal Abilities, Evolution, and your own Spiritual Practices.” Take time for yourself before the busy holiday season to relax, rejuvenate and find your inner peace. Proof of vaccination is required to attend this event.
On November 26, a school PA Day, the BCM&CC has a day filled with challenging family fun! Join them at the Museum or on their YouTube channel to watch Guinness World Record Holder, Silvio Sabba share tips and tricks on how to beat the world records. Spend the day trying to beat the records at the Museum and at home. Proudly presented by Ontario Power Generation.
In addition to these programs the BCM&CC has also opened their latest travelling exhibition. Have you ever wondered how language changes over time? Did you know that there are over 60 aboriginal languages in Canada alone? This fall explore languages that have come to Canada and shaped our country into what it is today in A Tapestry of Voices. Learn more about languages, how they have changed over time, and how we can maintain our languages for future generations until December 31, 2021. Discover more about Canada’s rich linguistic landscape at the Bruce County Public Library with their display of materials, while also finding a local connection with items that highlight Bruce County’s diversity. This exhibition is visiting from the Canadian Languages Museum and is proudly presented by Community Foundation Grey Bruce and Bounce 92.3.
