Grey Roots Museum & Archives kicks off a month full of holiday programming and events on Saturday December 4. The month-long occasion, titled “A December to Remember”, features events and activities geared for all age groups.
On Saturday, December 4, Tammy Cruickshank, Grey County Early Years Literacy Facilitator, leads “Toddlers Take the Museum”. Starting at 10:30 a.m., participants will be led through stories, movement, and hands-on activities. EarlyON protocols are being followed during this program and families are reminded that they may visit only one EarlyON program per week. Advance registration is required to attend this free event.
Two pop-up Holiday Crafts Shows run on Saturday December 11 and 18. Each show features a curated group of crafters, offering a variety of handmade crafts and goodies. With twelve vendors in an intimate setting, attendees will be able to browse and interact in a relaxed environment. Both shows run from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Advance registration is required. There is no charge to attend, though the Friends of Moreston will be accepting cash donations at the door.
All-ages guided holiday craft making sessions are offered at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on December 21, 22 and 23. Craft options include canvas painting, string crafts and felt creations. These sessions are open to all ages, though children must be accompanied by an adult. Prices range from $5.00 to $15.00 depending on the craft. Advance registration is required.
Beginning Tuesday, December 21, kids’ games and activities are offered, including games of mini-stick, table-top hockey games, and writing letters to Santa. These activities are included at no extra charge with admission to the museum.
