The Owen Sound and District Junior Optimists are hosting “Art in the Park” at Hibou Conservation Area on June 4th (2:00 to 4:00 PM). This event is in support of the Optimist Club of Sydenham & District’s Grand Opening of the Optimist Inclusive Playground. The Junior Optimists will have games and activities for the children as well as an Indigenous reconciliation activity.
Members have been making items for their “Art in the Park” fundraiser and will have pallet Canada Flags, bird feeders, maple syrup and much more available to purchase. In addition, there will be a silent auction of larger items such as a live edge bench, a driftwood coat rack and quilts. Art will be on display on the Owen Sound and District Junior Optimists Facebook page for online bidding until June 3, then become a silent auction on June 4. Check the Facebook page on June 5 to see if you had the winning bid – or come to Hibou on Saturday and participate in the silent auction in person, while enjoying the festivities.
Visitors participating in “Art in the Park”, or the Optimist Inclusive Playground Grand Opening, receive free admittance to Hibou Conservation Area on June 4th.
Junior Optimists’ fundraising proceeds will support the Orange Shirt Society, Grey Bruce Pride and a refugee family from Ukraine, with a goal of $500 for each cause.
We hope to see you there!
