Join us as we chat with Joan Beecroft about her efforts to collect LGBTQ+ stories and perspectives locally. Joan will share her discussions with members of the Grey-Bruce LGBTQ+ community about growing up and growing older here and what they imagine the future looks like for LGBTQ+ individuals.

Joan Beecroft has been collecting our stories for decades. An inspired educator, Joan has been a keen community advocate building partnerships and alliances that truly represent and reflect the needs, resources, challenges and supports available locally.

Joan’s books include Growing Up Gay* in Bruce & Grey, and 20/20 Hindsight: Being Gay* in Bruce and Grey. *gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, two-spirit. We look forward to talking with Joan on Saturday, June 11th at 2 pm in the library auditorium.
