Does anyone else share this reader's problem? Has anyone found a solution?

From our reader:

In the past, flyer delivery was conducted by a person that could be approached and asked to discontinue the practice at our address. That person always complied and they walked by without leaving a package. Now, delivery is effected through the dark hours of the night by someone in a vehicle that leaves them at the foot of the driveway, all wadded into a blue plastic bag.

We still don’t want them. The flyers and Grey-Bruce This week are very UNwanted here.

Flyer delivery is a practice that has lost its meaning and relevance for us, and now even an environmental threat with the addition of the plastic bag. Generic shopping apps like Flipp and apps specific to stores have replaced flyers for most people and now there's an environmental threat with the addition of the plastic bag. I don’t like being complicit in the environmental impact of plastic bags and recycled newsprint in the sketchy recycling stream we have in Ontario. Added to this, by leaving the flyers at the end of the driveway, they risk becoming damaging to snowblowers and be cast further by snow plows.

Dsposing of recycling at Miller’s Waste Transfer Facility costs me money, and probably costs me money by taxation when left at the end of the driveway for bi-weekly pickup.

The City of Montreal and one of its suburbs tried to ban flyer delivery by municipal bylaw. TC Transcontinental Printing is taking them to court over that to preserve their business, and Canada Post is backing them up.

I tried calling the Sun Times several times by telephone to ask them to discontinue delivery, but their phone-tree won the day and I couldn’t figure out how to make my request. I’ve left at request with the form on their website, but delivery continues. I’ve tried to visit their office but when I went there through normal business hours I found the door to be locked.

As far as I’m concerned, the Sun Times is littering and intentionally leaving garbage at my address.
