We are all aware that although there are some pockets of green jobs in Grey and Bruce counties, yet there may not be a strategic focus on a 'green economy', as much as on regional economic growth in general.
In the December 15th Climate Forum, we will orient participants to the notion of ‘Green Economy’, then hear from County Economic Development Officers around each of the county’s current activities, realities and priorities.
We will then hear from a number of regional green employers, and ask them what the needs and opportunities are in their ‘sector’ and what would support growth.
This will include small business owners who are positioning for opportunity, including alternative energy technology innovators, and green product developers & installation contractors. We have heard that there are training and workforce issues and in some cases supply & demand constraints that may be impacting growth and scaling locally.
We are hoping that there can be a conversation about how government, businesses and citizens can work together to build the bridge to the vision of a thriving green economy in our counties.

As always, the goal is to learn together from a wealth of experience in the room.
