WordShop, a one-day learning experience for beginning and experienced writers co-sponsored by the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library and The Ginger Press, will take place 9:30-4:00 on Sunday April 16. Sessions led by ten local literary experts on a wide variety of topics will inspire registrants to jumpstart all aspects of their writing. WordShop will also include an open mic, networking opportunities, a book table featuring books by participants, a discussion of current and future writing groups, and a delicious lunch.
Topics covered will include Writing Songs with Coco Love Alcorn; Community Storytelling with Joan Beecroft; Making Books with Kari Bronaugh; Writing Your Memoir with Gail Gallant; Researching with Janet Iles; Writing for Magazines with Sandra J. Howe; Writing and Illustrating Books for Children with Elly MacKay; Copyright with Miranda Miller; Writing Poetry with Richard-Yves Sitoski; and Writing Local Fiction and Non Fiction with Richard Thomas.
WordShop 2023 showcases the remarkable local community of award-winning writers. Choosing sessions from the wide variety offered will encourage participants to connect, kickstart and complete their own writing projects.
