Bluewater Toastmasters marks its 40th anniversary in October 2015. In honor of the occasion, a celebration party will be held on October 17th at St. Mary's Parish Hall in Owen Sound from 7 to 9 pm. Members of the public are invited to attend the event. Since 1975, the club has been dedicated to helping people throughout Grey and Bruce counties to become better speakers and leaders.

Owen Sound Deputy Mayor Arlene Wright and MPP Bill Walker have both been members of Toastmasters and will be present at the celebration party on October 17th.

Other guests include club founding members and office holders from Toastmasters International.

Current member Lynda Chiotti states,"Toastmasters has given me the practice opportunities and constructive support to confidently present and teach the topics I am passionate about."

"Bluewater Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to overcome their fear of public speaking and sharpen presentation skills," says David Bray, president of Bluewater Toastmasters. "Other benefits include the opportunity to increase one's confidence, build critical thinking skills and become an effective listener," says David.

Bluewater Toastmasters meets the second, third, and fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm in Tenneco at 1800 17th St. East in Owen Sound. Meetings are open to the public.
