This year's Christmas Train event at the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre (CWHC)  will take place from 10 to 4 on Saturday November 19 and Sunday November 20. This popular CWHC fundraising event features the show and sale of new and previously loved Christmas decorations including exquisite vintage pieces, and  is held on the 1953 dining car.

Construction has begun on the third phase of a recent Trillium Capital grant towards making the dining car usable for special events, rentals, exhibitions and food service beginning in the spring of 2017. The current construction involves extending the exterior deck from the former CN station to the dining car. Specially commissioned lumber provided by local contractor Terry McComb Sawmilling will be used for this project, which is scheduled to be completed prior to The Christmas Train.  CWHC staff and volunteers will be on hand to show the recent renovations and answer questions during the event.

Admission is free and light resreshments will be served.
