Take the Fight out of Food"Take the fight out of food" is the theme for Nutrition Month, March 2017. Many of us struggle with our relationship with food. It can be difficult to sort through food fads, work through picky eating, and deal with stress or self-care needs when living with a disease. Almost half of Canadians find their nutrition information from the internet, social media, and blogs. It's hard to know what you can trust. This Nutrition Month is a perfect time to re-think your relationship with food and explore better options.

When facing food-related issues, Dietitians of Canada asks you to consider three steps to help "Take the fight out of food":

1) Spot the Problem- Find out what is causing your fight with food.

2) Get the Facts- Use facts from reliable sources to decide what needs to be done to solve the problem.

3) Seek Support- Put the plan into action with support from a dietitian, family, and friends.

Beginning February 22, we ask everyone to pledge to "Take the fight out of food". Deciding to build a healthier relationship with food is the first step. Take the pledge on social media, by taking a picture with a pledge sheet, and share your commitment by putting #NutritionMonth in the caption.
