The Grey County Historical Society (GCHS) will host its 50th annual dinner at the Meaford Hall Arts & Cultural Centre on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Along with the dinner, GCHS is sponsoring a variety show on stage that features four county community theatre groups performing 20 minute vignettes on the cultural history of Grey County, plus several musical numbers by a mother and son duo. The overall theme of the dinner and variety show is celebrating the 150th of Canada in Grey County. Community Theatre groups, from Owen Sound, Meaford, Rocklyn, and Feversham, will be presenting locally written stories depicting events and people of Grey County. For example, Owen Sound Little Theatre will be presenting an excerpt from their new play on the life of Billy Bishop.
GCHS has received grants from Canada and Ontario 150 organizations to help offset the costs for the event.
The event at Meaford Hall begins with a social hour from 5 to 6. Dinner at 6 PM and the variety show at 8 PM.
Tickets for Dinner and Show, with premium seating in the theatre, are $50. These limited tickets are available only from Board members and must be paid for in advance.
Tickets for only the show are $20 and are available at the Meaford Hall box office. http://www.meafordhall.ca/tickets.cfm
