On a perfect June evening, the Dufferin School community (the "Dragons") - from kindergarten children to some of the first teachers to have taught in the present school building - said good-bye to their school. After ice cream and face painting and giggles at old photos, there were speeches of course, but the real magic of the evening came as it always does from the sound of children's voices....
Dufferin is the kind of place, Where magic can come true
But magic would not be around, if it were not for you (point to someone, then take them)
Our school is truly special, Beautiful and real
We hope you know how good you made us feel
And we'll say goodbye for now, We love you well
Goodbye for now it's time to part
Even as we're leaving, We are giving and receiving
We thank you for being who you are
We have grown our wings as dragons, We've learned throughout the years
We have so many accomplishments, We've conquered many fears
As this year is ending, We know we are prepared to soar
Just listen and you'll hear our dragon roar
And we'll say goodbye for now , We love you well
Goodbye for now it's time to part
Even as we're leaving, We are giving and receiving
We thank you for being who you are
Dufferin is the kind of place
Where magic can come true
But magic would not be around
If it were not for you
Our school is truly special
Beautiful and real
We hope you know how good
You made us feel.
