SauGreen, Port Elgin Cinemas, Climate Reality Project Canada and Rabbit Dash are partnering on two events, including screenings this Saturday and Sunday of Al Gore's newest documentary An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.

On both Saturday and Sunday, discussions will kick off at Rabbit Dash at 2pm, with a film screening at the Port Elgin Cinema at 4pm (regular priced tickets at the door), followed by further discussions at Rabbit Dash. Appetizers will be provided by SauGreen at Rabbit Dash, and there will be special t-shirt door prizes and other giveaways for participants.

Leading the Q&A discussion post-screening will be local Climate Leaders trained by Al Gore, including Victoria and Corrina Serda (Trained in Nashville in 2007 & Montreal in 2008), and Brandi Farr, of Saugeen First Nation (Trained in Toronto in 2015). Victoria recently was on a mentor panel in Pittsburgh with Al Gore at the 36th Climate Leadership Corps training.

This event is launching a Community Climate Hub for Saugeen Shores, which supports engagement of our communities through public consultations, film screenings, eco-festivals, educational presentations, high profile conferences, webinars, hack-a-thons, and competitions (i.e. architecture, entrepreneurship, urban planning). Hubs establish their own strategy, but align on the objective of advancing their municipalities towards carbon neutrality by mid-century through following the FCM's Partners for Climate Protection milestone framework in a non-partisan manner. This local hub will be able to apply for funding toward a greenhouse gas emissions inventory, local action plan, implementation and monitoring. See http://climatehub.ca/
