The Grey Bruce We C.A.R.E Project is hosting the 4th annual SHARE event addressing youth mental health and wellness. This day-long workshop is an opportunity for adults and youth to Connect, Ask, Reach and Engage on issues relating to youth mental health in Grey Bruce.
"Together, we can change the stigma that surrounds this disease." says keynote speaker Michael Landsberg. Known for his popular sports talk show Off The Record on TSN, Landsberg lives with depression and isn't afraid to talk about it. He believes that we have the power to save lives.
Mental health professionals and youth with lived experience will offer a variety of breakout sessions including: recreation therapy, nutrition, resilience, depression, dealing with stress, indigenous mental health, social media and The Jack Project, a national network of young leaders transforming the way we think about mental health. There will also be opportunities to develop coping strategies such as yoga, self-care, mindfulness and pet therapy.
The SHARE event takes place Thursday, April 26, 9:00 am - 2:30 pm at Beaver Valley Community Centre, 58 Alfred Street West, Thornbury. The event is free admission, open to youth and adults and includes lunch. For more information and to register, visit We C.A.R.E
The SHARE event is funded by Bruce Power with sponsorship from The Town of the Blue Mountains.
