The Eat Well Market, Hanover's Own Farmers Market, is now accepting new vendors for the 2018 season. Running on Saturdays from June 2nd to October 27th the market is located in Heritage Square, right across from the Hanover library and clock tower.
"Eat Well Market is growing this year and we're excited to bring new vendors on board," says market manager Rosemary Crick of Crickhollow Gardens. "As an official farmers market, over half of the vendors are food producers so we have a variety of opportunities new vendors can provide."
The market has openings for vendors who produce meat, maple syrup, honey, eggs, dairy products, fruit, grains and baked goods. The market also welcomes vendors who make prepared foods like baking, perogies and healthy snack foods.
"As a market focused on local and organic foods, we are looking to bring in as many healthy food items as possible," added Crick.
The Eat Well Market has been running for six years, with 2018 as its third season in Heritage Square in Hanover. Previously held on Friday afternoons, the market has now switched to Saturday mornings.
"We are excited to move to Saturday mornings," says Beth Heimpel of Elizabites. "This summer we are going to be working directly with local farmers to use as much local produce as possible in our lunches for sale at the market."
The market is also looking to involve more local youth in 2018 and is teaming up with the Launch Pad youth center. All ages are encouraged to become vendors. Launch Pad will have a booth each week at market and will have products available made in their kitchen.
