Only a couple days remain until the official start of summer and the Longest Day of PLAY. Kick off your summer in style by doing your part - get up, get out and get going!
Coinciding with the first day of summer, June 21, the Longest Day of PLAY is a community-based campaign to encourage Grey Bruce residents to get more active. Visit the PLAY in Bruce Grey website at www.playbrucegrey.com for activity suggestions and events in your community. PLAY in Bruce Grey aims to get residents more physically active through regular play.
"The Longest Day of PLAY is now a nationally recognized event with ParticipACTION leading the charge." said Jason Weppler, Health Promoter at the Grey Bruce Health Unit. "Our goal is to get more people thinking about their activity levels."
For adults, the goal is 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each week. Children and youth should be active for at least one hour every day.
PLAY in Bruce Grey thanks Bruce Power for their support of this event.
