skiThe Bruce Ski Club was forced to cancel the first attempt to hold a Free to Ski day, so the make up day is now scheduled for Sunday, February 24, 2019.

The club will open up their ski and snowshoe trails at the club’s Sawmill Nordic Centre with free access to everyone (members and non-members) from Noon to 4:00 p.m. on Feb. 24th. (Non-members will be required to sign a waiver before taking part.) Bring your families to try the trails, 1 km. east of Hepworth.

There will be guided tours of both the cross-country ski trails and snowshoe trails, as well as basic ski lessons if requested. After the activities, warm up by the bonfire. Soup and other goodies will be for sale in support of local racer Julian Smith.

Sawmill Nordic Centre offers 11 km. of both classic and skate ski trails. There are also 5 km. of marked snowshoe trails. The ski and snowshoe trails are marked as easy, moderate or difficult for all levels of users. The trailhead and parking lot for the Sawmill Nordic Centre are located on Highway 6 between Shallow Lake and Hepworth, Ontario (44.628624° -81.115545°).
