wildthingDuring Earth Week, The Grey Sauble Conservation Foundation is hosting the fourth annual Earth Film Festival on Thursday, April 18.

The film festival is being held at the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound.

The two films feature the beauty of our natural environment and encourages people to better understand the outdoors.

The two films are Project Wild Thing and The Messenger.

The Foundation is celebrating Earth Week by hosting and sponsoring a special day for the local schools. On Thursday April 18, two performances will be shown to students from grades 4 to grade 10.

The film, Project Wild Thing encourages young people to get in the outdoors and enjoy nature.

In the evening director Su Rynard will share her experiences producing and directing the film about the decline of songbirds, The Messenger.

Our film festival is raising funds to assist the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority in many of their revitalization of their properties. All profits raised will be donated to the Authority.

A long range plan is being developed to maintain and improve the many properties supervised by the Authority.

In addition to the conservation projects, some of the funds are directed to the Malcolm Kirk Scholarship Award and conservation awards given out to graduating students in the local high schools.

We are proud of the sponsorships by our local businesses to help our Foundation cover the costs of hosting the film festival.

Tickets are $25 and are available from the Roxy Theatre, 519-371-2833.
