Andy Morris’s journey overflowed with creativity, curiosity and kindness. It is with profound sadness that the family of Andrew Nicholas "Andy" Morris announced his passing on Thursday, June 20th, 2019 at the Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound, after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family, his companion Andrée, and the sound of the birds.
Born in Paisley, Scotland to Harry and Winnifred Morris, he studied graphic design at Conestoga College and worked as a sign maker for the City of Cambridge before moving to Owen Sound and starting his company ‘Morris Signs’ which he operated for over 37 years.
Andy loved nothing more than debating art, science and the secrets of the universe over a cup of coffee. He lived with enthusiasm and razor wit. His imagination was limitless.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Sam Morris and their dear son, Shay. He will be forever remembered as a devoted brother to Alison, proud father to Skye, Spring (Nathaniel) and Seren (Wesley), adoring grandfather to Mikaela, Rayna, Gavin, Wyatt and the Ross-Thomas-Emonts-Murray family, loving companion to Andrée and friend to all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6th, 2019 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. with memories being shared at 2:00 p.m. at the Harmony Centre, 890 - 4th Avenue East, Owen Sound. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made in his honour to the Chapman House Hospice or the Kemble Lion’s Club where he was an active member for over 28 years and may be made through the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492). Messages of condolence may be sent to the family on-line at www.woodfuneralhome.ca
