Star Lab CollageWhether you’re looking for a Day Camp or planning to bring the whole family for a day of discovery, the Bruce County Museum has a wide range of activities planned during March Break.

The Museum is excited to host the Royal Ontario Museum’s travelling planetarium. Discover the wonders of the universe in the huge inflatable dome that projects the night sky inside. You’ll get to learn about the sky in various stages throughout the year from season to season, along with the constellations from Greek mythology.

Baker Magic 3 Monday‘Baker Magic Show’ kicks off March Break Family Fun Days on Monday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m., with family friendly magic tricks, sleight of hand and mind reading illusions. Tuesday brings ‘Wild Ontario’, an environmental education program based at the University of Guelph, using live birds-of-prey and passionate people to connect humans to science and nature. An ‘Amazing Astronomy’ presentation by John Hlynialuk takes place on Wednesday. ‘Studio Babette’ is performing two “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” puppet shows on Thursday with a mini suitcase show in between. Then on Friday the ‘Celtic Academy Canada’ will delight with a performance of traditional Irish dance followed by a workshop. To close out this fun-filled week ‘Hype Performing Arts’ is leading a dance workshop on Saturday, March 21. In addition, to special guests each day has a special theme with self-led activities, family friendly matinee movies, and crafts. March Break Family Fun Days are proudly presented by Judy Rich Barrister & Solicitor, and the Rotary Club of Southampton.

During March Break KidZone Discovery Day Camp, children ages five to twelve will be entertained with daily themes and activities! Sign little explorers up for a single day or the whole week; each day will be filled with crafts, experiments, outdoor adventures and time in the exhibits to explore. Space is limited; pre-registration is required and can be completed by calling the Museum at 519-797-2080. Camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., early drop off or late pick up may be arranged for an additional fee. The BCM&CC is open daily during March Break Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the ROM Star Lab shows are free for members and included with general admission fees, space is limited, show tickets will be issued at Visitor Services beginning at 10 a.m. daily.
