The West Hill Secondary School Envirothon teams received first place at the 19 th annual Grey Bruce Regional Envirothon competition held at Camp Celtic in Lion's Head on May 4 th , 2016. The senior team now advances to the provincial competition in Lindsay, which takes place from May 29 th - June 1 st , 2016.
Envirothon is an outdoors based team competition that builds environmental awareness and leadership among young people through practical, hands-on educational experiences. The Envirothon program in Ontario is coordinated by Forests Ontario. The first springtime Walk for Alzheimer's in Grey-Bruce was a gratifying success, raising nearly $70,000.
The Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce switched from the winter-time Walk for Memories, which was an indoor event, to the Walk for Alzheimer's. Two Walks were held on Saturday May 7, at Kelso Beach in Owen Sound and Sulphur Spring near Hanover.
