opp-crimescene-regularGREY HIGHLANDS – On Sunday, March 1, 2015 at approximately 3:58 p.m., Grey County OPP received a report of a lost black plastic gun case containing two firearms.

On Saturday, February 28th, the owner of the property had been target shooting at a gravel pit near Badjeros in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. At approximately 7:15 p.m., upon returning to his residence in Collingwood, he discovered the gun case was missing from the back of his pick-up truck. He contacted police after he retraced his route and was unable to locate the gun case.

The military-style gun case contained the following firearms:

opp-graphic-regularGREY HIGHLANDS – Grey County OPP warn residents to beware of a scam known as the 'Magic Voucher' scam.

On Monday, February 23, 2015 a Municipality of Grey Highlands resident received a letter from a Josef v. J. which included a 'Magic Voucher'. The suspect claims to be a fortune-teller and tells the individual that they, too, have special mediumistic qualities and possess a sub-spiritual contact arc, which very few people possess. He then goes on to say that he can tell them when, where and how they will soon achieve a great win of money through a lottery ....... and he will do this free of charge!

The only thing the person is asked to do is to complete and return the 'Magic Voucher' which asks two questions: What is your father's first name and what is your date of birth?

oppb-graphic-regularGREY HIGHLANDS – On Sunday, February 15, 2015 at approximately 11:15 a.m., Grey County OPP received a report of a break-in at Good Fellas Pizza located on Sydenham Street, Flesherton, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The business was forcibly entered shortly after 3:00 a.m. on February 15th, and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.

According to surveillance video at the scene, the suspect is a male, approximately 6' tall, wearing a nylon mask, winter gloves, a long-sleeved light coloured shirt and dark coloured pants which appeared to be sitting below his waist.

Anyone with information which may assist in this investigation is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

measels-regThe Ministry of Health was advised of a person with a newly confirmed case of measles, attended the "Acquire the Fire" event held in Toronto at Queensway Cathedral on February 6 and 7, 2015.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit has been notified that some youths from Grey and Bruce attended this event.

Individuals who attended this event are requested to review their immunization status to ensure they are protected against measles.

If they are not adequately immunized against measles or do not know their immunization status, they are asked to stay at home from school, not attend any public gatherings and contact the Grey Bruce Health Unit, Infectious Disease Program for further guidance at 519-376-9420.
