According to the Owen Sound Sun Times the Kiwanis Club is trying their best to make sure the Santa Claus parade will happen this year. Extra safety precautions are in place for the parade.

On November 21st, the Santa Claus parade will be held at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in the parking lot.

Parade floats will remain stationary as families drive by slowly in their cars, making their way by each float in an orderly fashion.

What if families do not have access to a car? How will some families enjoy the magic Christmas time gives to their children? A couple of other options have been organized for families who wish to view the parade.

As walk throughs are not allowed, the parade will be broadcast on the local Roger's Television station with a video of memories of past Christmas parades. As well, city buses are being arranged to drive by.

The Kiwanis Club checked with the Health Unit to help ensure safety for everyone. A maximum of 100 people can participate in the parade meaning there will be extra thought towards the parade floats that will make an entrance this year.

The rule of 100 people doesn’t include the families driving by in their cars.

As this pandemic is out of anyone's control, the parade could potentially be called off, but the organizers are doing their best to make sure the Santa Claus parade will continue this year.

Sun Times reporter Rob Gowan interviewed Tim Brown, chair of this year’s parade, for his story.
