Bruce County is home to vibrant communities that make our region unique and welcoming, with places we all proudly call home.
With population and jobs growth expected over the next 25 years, we are planning now for how our communities will evolve. Good planning decisions now can lead to healthy, inclusive communities over the next 25 years.
Should our communities be more walkable? How do we ensure access to affordable, healthy food? Access to parks and recreation?
These are some questions Bruce County’s Plan the Bruce: Communities project is asking.
“The Official Plan affects everyone in Bruce County — from the roads we use and the homes we live in, to the natural spaces we enjoy and the places we shop. By providing input on how our communities grow and evolve, you can influence Bruce County’s future,” says Janice Jackson, Warden, Bruce County.
Plan the Bruce is a land use project to inform the new Official Plan — the roadmap for growth and development for the next 25 years. Meaningful public engagement is an important part of the journey.
“We need to plan in ways that support healthy and complete communities for the well-being of current, and future, residents,” says Mark Paoli, Bruce County’s Director of Planning and Development.
