crosswalkvandals

Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce and the Owen Sound Police Service are seeking the public's help in solving an act of hate-related vandalism.

During the early morning of June 20, 2021, police and works department staff were called to the newly painted, inclusive,  Pride crosswalk in downtown Owen Sound after it was intentionally defaced.

This incident comes just days after Pride crosswalks in other jurisdictions of Ontario have had similar crimes committed.

The investigation is continuing, and police are clearly stating that crimes such as this will not be tolerated and will be investigated to the fullest extent.

If you have any information you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477; submit a secure Web-Tip at cstip.ca; or get the P3 Tips mobile app.

You won’t be asked to identify yourself, you don’t have to appear in court, and you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.00.

Remember Crime Doesn’t pay – but Crime Stoppers Does!
