Owen Sound District Secondary School (OSDSS) Principal Jeff Brookshaw is keeping his school families up to date on Covid-19 in the school community.  This email arrived earlier this evening.

"This is to inform you that we have learned of one more positive case of COVID-19 at OSDSS. Grey Bruce Public Health has contacted those who are considered high risk. I wanted you to first hear this directly from me as this information will soon be circulating in the public.

As directed by public health, 2 classes are isolating as a precaution for a total of four isolating. Otherwise, the school will remain open.

While there are positive cases associated with our school, public health’s assessment, to date, indicates that transmission would not have taken place within the school environment. Currently, there is no outbreak; that is, evidence of transmission from person to person, in the school. At this time no bus routes are involved with this case.

While I recognize that you may have some concerns and questions, I want you to rest assured that we continue to follow all public health protocols at OSDSS to keep your child(ren) as safe as possible.

Please note that those who do not hear from public health are NOT considered a high-risk contact. In this case, no news is good news.

For those of you whose children are currently isolating, thank you for your patience, and let us know if you need any assistance.

I look forward to having everyone back with us soon."
