At the August 4 session of Grey County Council Kim Wingrove was named the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Grey County. Ms. Wingrove has over 20 years of diverse experience in public administration at both the provincial and municipal level. Ms. Wingrove will officially assume her position on September 28, 2015.

"Ms. Wingrove is an experienced leader with a wide range of skills and qualities that make her an excellent fit for the position. We look forward to working with her."
Ms. Wingrove's past work experience includessenior leadership roles within the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Ministry of Economic Development. Ms. Wingrove also served slightly less than three years as the CAO of The Town of Collingwood, and for the past eighteen months she has been CAO of the Township of Guelph-Eramosa. In addition, Ms. Wingrove also served on the Board of Directors for the Economic Developers Council of Ontario for eight years.
Grey County started the recruitment process, and hired consultants Ward & Uptigrove, after former CAO Derik Brandt left the job in February after only two months the job on, reported as a "bad fit".  Sharon Vokes, long time County Clerk, has been shouldering the CAO responsibilities in the interim.

The CAO works closely with the Warden and reports to Grey County Council. The CAO is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the day-to-day operations of the County that includes more than 10 departments, over 800 employees and an operating budget of over $100 million.
