Main streets play a vital role in growing the Canadian economy and supporting local communities.

South Bruce Peninsula is pleased to announce the first three local businesses that will each be receiving a non-repayable contribution of $10,000 from the My Main Street, Local Business Accelerator program. This contribution will allow the awarded businesses to support findings from the market research provided by My Main Street to drive economic growth and attract new customers to their business and the entire downtown Wiarton community. 

The My Main Street, Local Business Accelerator program is delivered by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario with an overall Government of Canada investment of $23.5 million through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) to support the recovery and strength of main streets and local businesses in southern Ontario. 

Symon Says and Your Local Meat Shoppe & More have been each awarded $10,000 to support their existing businesses and $10,000 has been awarded to new business Great Ape Empire. 

There are up to five $10,000 non-repayable contributions to support existing business and up to five $10,000 non-repayable contributions to attract new business.
